(More customer reviews)I bought these as one of my "try something new every year" deals, and I gotta say, these are just the CUTEST little things ever. They look exactly like a little miniature pumpkin. I love them, and will be trying them again next year. I didn't have many ripen as I live in a very short growing season area, so I'm hoping that starting them a bit earlier next year will help. It's a real conversation piece in a fall display. Be aware, however, that there are some SHARP thorns on the stems if you decide to display these on their stems in a vase. I separated mine off the stem and just have them sitting on a shelf display. I've gotten many compliments on themm!

Have you seen those cute miniature pumpkins on a branch at the florists before? Well, this is the plant that makes them. Grows to 3 feet tall with interesting leaves having spines along the mid-rib. Also used in SE Asian cooking. The fruit is about the size of a lemon. The growth and the appearance of the plant is identical to an eggplant.
