(More customer reviews)The steamer is of good quality and works as intended, but I feel it has design flaws that make it unsatisfactory for me. First thing I noticed is that the knob is very hard to turn. It is a small diameter so it is hard for me to grip tightly enough to comfortably turn as it has a lot of tension on it's spring. Next, the indicator for the timer is just a dimple in the light gray knob. It is only about 2mm and is very hard for me to see. Finally, the trays for cooking eggs are made of a plastic and seem to cause uneven cooking. When the top of the egg is done to perfection the bottom is still raw, so by the time it is cooked on the bottom the top half is too hard. I have used an aluminum measuring 1/4 cup to cook eggs with and it cooks much more evenly with the metal container. In all other aspects it is fine.

Easily steam a variety of foods with this electronic mini food steamer. The unit's 1-1/3-quart-capacity steaming bowl can accommodate a couple ears of corn, a medley of summer squash, root vegetables, or other mealtime favorites. Even more, its optional food separator allows for steaming two different types of food at the same time, side by side. It can also be used to cook up to eight soft- or hard-cooked eggs or up to four poached eggs with the included poaching tray. Simply add food, secure the lid, pour in water using the water-level indicator to gauge how much, and start the steaming process by setting the timer from 0 to 30 minutes (a red "on" indicator light will illuminate). The appliance creates instant steam so it's possible to start cooking immediately, and its external water-fill system features a transparent reservoir, making it a snap to see when more water needs to be added. Best of all, the unit automatically switches over to a keep-warm setting at the end of the cooking cycle, keeping food warm until serving time. The mini food steamer measures approximately 7 by 9 by 8-1/2 inches.
