At this point I feel very confident in the products I buy from Hirt's Garden. I purchased these plants during summer which was a mistake on my part. Growing Rhubarb in Florida due to the extreme heat and humidity is extremely difficult. However, the plants arrived in good health and produced for a few weeks before rain and heat combined put them out of their misery. One plant I kept in the shade did well until pests got a hold of it. I am recommending this product but to all Florida growers I would wait until fall to plant.

Besides delicious rhubarb pies, rhubarb also makes an excellent desert, and particularly in summer, when its refreshingly delicious flavour is most appreciated. Rhubarb is also an extremely hardy plant - one could say small shrub - which lasts for decades, with hardly any care at all. Harvesting outweighs care by a factor of about 10 to 1. VictoriaThis is a standard crop variety of Rhubarb. One of the largest and most productive varieties. The stalks are a deep crimson red with a touch of green on the inside. The taste has a bit of a wine flavor to it. First recorded in 1837 in England.
