The plastics in other hoses contain lead and plasticizers that get in the water and are harmful to humans--so they carry a warning label. I researched what hoses to use that are drinking safe and found this to be the one I like best. I just got my gatorhydes, so I will update this review if I come across anything unexpected later. So far I am happy with these benefits:
* Safer: Plastic and end fittings are drinking water safe. The hose does not smell noticeably or impart a taste to the water I can detect. Better for your family.

Many other drinking safe hoses I found were made for boats and RVs--did not have all the advantages above, and were too thin or wimpy for my use. "Water Right" brand hoses were also interesting and also made from drinking safe polyurethane. I will try them as well.
