(More customer reviews)I store this under my kitchen sink and find that I use this all the time. It works great as a regular stainer, like for draining off the water from cooked pasta, but it is most useful for rinsing and/or cutting up fruit and vegetables. You can rinse them, cut/peel, and then collect all of the peelings, stems, etc. in the strainer. When finished peeling potatoes, cutting up strawberries, etc. you just pick up the strainer part and empty it into the garbage. Since the strainer is silicone it can be turned inside out if you need to, to get all of the stuff out of it easier, but usually I am able to just tap it a couple of times on the edge of the garbage can and everything comes out. I also love how it collapses for storage and also for putting it in the dishwasher (only takes up the room of a dinner plate.) I think the first reviewer made an error in the number of stars because when you read the review it sounds positive but only has 2 stars. This is a great item!!
