I've always had issues with my fish filets falling through the grill grate, and this product keeps my filet intact and presentable when I have guests over. Same with thin-cut vegetables like asparagus and squash. The handle easily locks into place when it's time to remove everything from the grill, so I can just bring it to my patio table and serve it there.

Cuisinart Mandolin Slicer Review

(More customer reviews)This mandoline slicer was a disappointment. It is very difficult to operate, especially when slicing tougher vegetables like butternut squash or even onions. It is very hard to keep the vegetables in place and you have to press down so hard to keep them from sliding off that it feels like you're about to break the thing in half. I'm sticking to knives and the food processor from now on.

But medium shredding disc and 4 mm slicing discs are already included with the food processor. The only new thing in this set is the french fry disc, so you do not need the set, do not waste your money, just go and buy french fry disc, if you need it. It will cost you probably two times less. By the way, amazon.com stopped selling the french fry discs separately, and this stinks.

Cuisinart FRC-800 Rice Plus Multi-Cooker with Fuzzy Logic Technology Review

(More customer reviews)I've had this rice/oatmeal/slow cooker now for 6 months. This machine cooks all kinds of rice extremely well and that's what it primarily was designed to do. You can cook sushi, brown, risotto, etc. rices and they turn out perfect. They also stay warm and perfectly moist if you need to set the keep warm function. The parts remove easily for cleaning.
The easy to read display doesn't tell you how many minutes it will take to cook your rice choice. You have to read through the instruction booklet to find out how long each cycle is. A countdown function of remaining time would have been really nice. The first time I made brown rice my family waited almost 2 hours to eat dinner.
This machine doesn't do the extra stuff very well. I made 1 cup of steel cut (Irish) oatmeal with 2 cups of water in a machine designed to hold 8 cups of water. The frothy water boiled over, out of the steam hole, and into the electronics board. It fried the circuit board. Fortunately the unit comes with a 3 years, no questions asked warranty. Cuisinart sent me a replacement unit for $10 shipping/handling.
The slow cooker function runs on the equivalent of "high" temperature for a slow cooker. They don't tell you that in the user manual. When you use the unit on slow cooker, the first 10 minutes of the cycle sautes whatever you put in the pan. This is useful if you need to brown meat or onions.
I love Cuisinart but this one doesn't live up to the usual quality of Cuisinart products. I have the machine and will use it 'till it dies, but I don't know if I would buy another.

I have a 7 cup processor and tried different veggies but all with the same result. Its not worth owning. I've been using the slicer and shredder blades from cuisinart for 4 years (4 times a week) and they do a wonderful job. Wish there were better julienne blades than this one :(

I made a mess out of cooking rice (all the negative reviews are true) until I figured that I should use slightly less water than the recommended quantity. After that, I spent 1 year using it nonstop (we eat rice every day).
365 days later, the non-stick bowl is BADLY chipped, like little bubbles that burst on the bottom and left pinhead-sized chips. I swear that I never used anything else than the included plastic scoop (and sponge for cleaning) and never ever scratched it, so I'm 100% sure the non-stick coating quality is to blame.
Add to that that non-stick coating is toxic*, this baby is out of my kitchen as soon as I can afford a Zojirushi. They're not as elegants, but they last forever.For more info on teflon toxicity, visit http://www.ewg.org

(More customer reviews)I bought this without finding any other reviews. I wish I hadn't. I have a number of Cuisinart items in my kitchen and really like them all. This isn't one of them and I'm returning it today.
The pulp it ejects is mushy. Juicers I've had in the past were able to create a fine, dry pulp. I pick up this pulp, slightly squeeze it with my hand and get more juice. A lot of the pulp doesn't make it to the pulp container. Quite a bit of the pulp even escapes and ends up in a fine sheet on my counter.
Maybe I just expected too much from Cuisinart. I emailed their customer support to see if this was a known issue or to find out if I was doing it wrong (doubtful) and haven't heard back from them after more than a week.
The juicer looks great. I like the design and the finish. Other than that I dislike it very much.

Cuisinart Simply Grilling Nonstick Grilling Basket Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this product primarily to cook fish on the grill. There were two problems with this basket that led me to send it back without ever using it. First, the tines that make up the basket are spaced too far apart - so less dense fish (think talapia) would easily fall through - as would smaller pieces of vegetables. The 2nd problem was the way the basket closed - which made it very likely for the user to get fingers smashed during closure. I have a cast iron basket with much smaller holes that just sits on top of the grill - and I will just continue to use that for fish and vegetables unless I find a better quality version of this type of basket. Great idea - but poor design.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Steel 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer Set Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this to replace an older smaller pasta cooker. I have about 20 pieces of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro cookware but couldn't justify spending over $100 for a large stockpot. The only notable difference is that the Multiclad has the sandwiched aluminum all the way up the sides of the pot. Not really necessary I thought for something I would use mostly for boiling water. Besides, the heat source is only really from below and that extra multiclad surface only adds to the weight.
I love the shiney exterior and the large capacity compared to my previous pasta pot. The steamer insert is a nice little extra but I'm not sure I'd want to haul out this enormous pot just to steam a few veggies. The lid is more domed than Cuisinart's standard lids and has a more sculpted handle. Cleanup is easy but only if you have a very large sink. The handles on both the pot and insert are solid and appear to be very securely attached.
So what's not to like?
This pot was a lot bigger than I anticipated. So large in fact that it doesn't fit in my normal cookware drawer. I ended up having to divide the pot from the insert just so it would fit in the cabinets. And that domed lid just adds to the height. The insert didn't need to stick out of the pot as far as it does and the handles on the insert come out further than those on the pot itself. Where the pot will barely fit, the insert won't just because of the handles. The other problem with the height of this pot comes when you try to use it on your stove. I nearly have to stick my head under the fan hood to see inside it!
The inside of both the pasta insert and the steamer basket won't drain completely. There are no drain holes along the bottom outer edges so the water continues to drip after removing it from the pot whenever it's tilted. I'm also not sure why they made the outsides of the insert and steam basket so shiny but made the insides brushed. This is almost the opposite of their fry pans. A shiny smooth inside would have made cleanup easier without the use of Teflon.
It would have received 5 stars except for these minor issues.

Cuisinart Retro Vegetable Peeler Review

It just doesn't have the right angle and is to wobbly or something.. It doesn't seem sharp enough either. I have had much cheaper peelers that worked much much better, I would not have bought this had I known..
I did buy the spoons in this collection and those are sturdy and well made and the pizza cutter, I just don't know what went wrong with this peeler.

It doesn't actually tell you that this is just the insert. You put this on top of a separately obtained 2, 3 or 4 quart Cuisinart saucepan which has the water in it.
I don't consider this a fault of the product or an attempt to fool you into buying something that's incomplete. It's just one of those annoying missing facts. Why did they leave this information out? Many other steamers come with the bottom pot as well as the steamer insert.
Maybe I'm an idiot, and it's obvious to everyone else. But I hope this will help you if you're looking at it and scratching your head.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this hoping to make homemade french fries and sweet potato fries. I used it immediately but was slightly disappointed in how thin the potatoes came out. I was expecting the fries to be more like a crinkle cut thickness and this was more of a shoestring size. I personally feel the discs should be cheaper or more of them included in the original purchase of your Cuisinart as they are pricey. I have the 14 cup model and the discs are all very expensive, especially when you realize that they don't quite meet up to what you expected, therefore, you are less apt to use it. I would consider this more of a julienne cut rather than a french fry cut.
