Hirt's was prompt shipping these beans to me. Of the 50 or so that I planted, only 3 did not germinate. They are growing quickly in my garden and I'm eager to see if they produce as vigorously as they began growing.

Garden Soy may be eaten directly like other beans or peas. They are exceptionally nutritious and tasty, cold or hot, for snacks or meals, even if you don't like tofu. Easy to grow and easy to prepare, Garden Soy was developed for the home garden and human diet by Dr. Richard Bernard, University of Illinois, Urbana. Delicious, edible garden soybeans are here to stay. Plant in full sun in spring, after the threat of frost and successively through June. Requirements are similar to snap beans and garden beans. Pick immature pods when plump but before yellowing begins. Boil in the pod for 3 1/2 minutes in lightly salted water. Remove beans from pods and salt as desired. Eat hot or cold, as finger food or in other dishes or freeze, in or out or the pod, for later use. Immature pods taste and look better, cook faster, and are more digestible because complex carbohydrates of immature sees are not formed.
