IPAC Italy Stainless Steel Potato Ricer / Masher Review

IPAC Italy Stainless Steel Potato Ricer / Masher
Average Reviews:

This ricer is basically junk, due to the very poor quality of metal the top handle is made from (the one you push down on to rice the potatoes). Everything but that handle is very nice, heavy-duty stainless steel. However, when you apply any force to the upper handle (which is made from either very lightweight SS or aluminum), is bends easily, rendering the utensil useless.

Ricer / Fruit Press Review

Ricer / Fruit Press

I love this press! For being plastic and coming with two plates, this is more than enough for my family and I. Both of my children, ages 3 and 1 are allergic to dairy, soy, and eggs so a majority of their diets come from fruit and veggies.
We use our press with potatoes, tomatoes, watermelon, and I've even squished a few cooked apples through here in a pinch. Easy clean up with nothing more than hot soapy water and a quick rinse I may just buy another so I have a back up.

I actually use this tool as a pomegrante juicer! It works exceptionally well. I didn't want to pay $175+ for an electric pomegrante juicer, so I opted for this one. It's perfect for the little pomegrante seeds. By the way, this is a really easy tool for making mashed potatoes. The stainless steel is easy to wash. You can also put it in the dishwasher.

Browne Cuisipro Stainless-Steel Potato Ricer Review

If you are anything like me you have probably bought your share of gadgets around the house that seemed like a 'must have' when you bought it ... then seemed like an 'i'ts Ok' when you firts used it and then into the junk drawer ... never to be ssen again until you move.
Well, if you like mashed potatoes then this is a MUST HAVE little and trust me you'lll use it over and over. (Darned if I know why they call it a ricer since it has diddly to do with rice. I mean we alll KNOW that potatoes hate rice anyway)
For us semi professional cooks you know that potatoes when boiled in their skins not only maintain their nutrients, but also, most importantly the flavour! In the past that has meant peeling hot potatoes which was never much fun. With this machine however you just dump the potato into the bowl and squeeze, voila ..... the potato comes out the bottom and the skin stays in the bowl ... I don't know how to explain it but the closest I'll come to is to say it's MAGIC.
You can usually do like 3 potatoes and then just pop open the ricer, scrape away the boiled potato skin and continue ...
no fuss no musss no burned hands no cutting and mashing just perfect fresh flavourfull mashed potatoes to add butter, garlic, cheeese or whatever else turns you on ...
OK potato lovers buy this baby now you will NOT regret it ....

I replaced my old aluminum potato ricer with this new plastic one. I am very happy with it. It was much more comfortable in my hand when squeezing the handles, and riced the potatoes thoroughly. It cleaned up great in the dishwasher. Highly recommend it.

MIU Matte Stainless-Steel Potato Ricer Review

MIU Matte Stainless-Steel Potato Ricer

I was a bit disappointed with this item. The product description made me think that it was made in France, but it isn't, it's a generic Chinese product, according to the box. That said, it works OK, but I wish it were larger and, now that I've used it, it had holes on all 4 sides, as opposed to 2. I imagine that the cheaper alternatives would do the job just as well as this one, if not, perhaps, better. Using it to mash some potatoes in their skins, some of the potato came back behind the presser, and did not pass through the holes. I suspect that this wouldn't have happened if they'd been peeled, but it did a pretty good job, considering they weren't. Finally, it does seem quite solid.

Black+Blum Spudski Potato Masher Review

Black+Blum Spudski Potato Masher

I ordered this for my sister-in-law for Christmas because I thought it was funny and clever (and because honestly, who needs another pair of slippers?). My brother reports that she LOVED it, and the whole family got a real kick out of reading everything on the packaging. The packaging? I've never seen it. But I'll take that as an added feature of the product. :)

A potato masher based on the old fashioned ski pole (note the cross stitch detail on the back of the rubber handle). It has an ergonomic easy to grip rubber handle that allows you to hold it from the side or from above. The mashing plate really works well. After much testing, we found a design that pushes the mashed potato away from the stem to help it mash faster and self clean. The packaging is our usual style and it also comes with Martin's Swiss grandmother's recipe for mashed potato. We want to show that designed products can be made affordable without compromising their quality. The aim is to create innovative products that will charm and entertain. Hopefully you will get as muchenjoyment from a Black+Blum product, as we got from designing them.
